Abinger Teddy Bear's Picnic - May 2nd 2011
Further details to be announced.
Details of the last picnic....
After the sad closure of Abinger Hammer School many children in the surrounding villages were upset at end of the Teddy Bears’ picnic which had been running for 28 years, so we are pleased to announce that we are bringing back the Teddy Bear picnic to Abinger Hammer. The date is Saturday May 2nd so please put the date in your diary.
This time it will be for the benefit of another local school: Peaslake School that once again is a self funded registered charity. The local community and parents, past and present, have tirelessly over the last 15 years raised funds to keep the school open.
The Teddy Bears’ picnic will provide entertainment and refreshments for all the family, with a range of attractions including the popular teddy bear classes, homemade teas in the Abinger cricket club’s pavilion, Pimms stall, barbecue, coconut shie, pooh stick championship and duck racing on the Tillingbourne stream, Face painting, bouncy castle and a Bear Hospital.
The children will also have an opportunity to do some arts and crafts and there will be many more attractions so come and join us for what will surely be a fun day out for all the family.
